As of Apr 1, Mr. Jarkko Antila has been appointed as the CEO of Reaktor Space Lab. Previous CEO and co-founder Mr. Tuomas Tikka moves to the role of CTO and continues on the Board, leading tech development and space missions.

“We warmly welcome Jarkko to lead the space crew into the expanding future, and I’m glad that we made this great addition to our highly skilled team”, comments Chairman of the Board, Juha-Matti Liukkonen.

Jarkko Antila originally has space and measurement technology background, and he has been leading technology teams at INFICON Ag and VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Oy. During his VTT time he also acted as a member of the science committee of Finland’s first satellite, Aalto-1 and in 2014 he co-founded Spectral Engines, a VTT-spinoff, where he acted as the CEO until 2020 when Spectral Engines was fully acquired by Nynomic AG. After Spectral Engines, Mr. Antila has been acting as a deeptech business consultant at his company Leaping Boulder with customers ranging from agtech to new space.

“When I first met the team I was totally impressed by their skillset and know-how on nanosatellites and spacetech. This is a great opportunity for me personally, as it combines so many parts of my earlier experience and I’m very excited to get back into space!” says Jarkko Antila.
